Senior Site Electrical Engineer

To contribute to maintaining the operational continuity of the site electrical power system; including controlling the Operational and Maintenance Contracts of Solar Plant and Power Station, controlling preventive and corrective maintenance of the equipment and facilities related to the Power Stations, advising the Head of Department (Site Power and Electrical (Site P&E)) and/or designated deputy.
The incumbent will supervise and mentor the activities of Site P&E Electrical Engineers, in alignment with site business goals. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for promoting the TMLSA safety culture, policy, internal controls and practices, while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and upholding the company’s core values.

•    Comply with all TML SA Occupational Health and Safety requirements as well as those required as per Mauritanian regulations. Ensure that all TML SA Policy’s and Procedures are adhered to by employees assigned to their Supervision
•    Accept personal responsibility for the health and safety of every worker under or assigned to his/her supervision.
•    Control the Operational and Maintenance Contract for Power Station 1B and 2
•    Control the Operational and Maintenance Contract for Solar Plant
•    Supervise the Electrical Engineers work to ensure that projects requirements to meet production expectations.
•    Set goals and coordinate the activities with Head of Department (Site P&E) and planning to ensure that schedule projects are accomplished with minimal disruption to production schedule.
•    Ensure that adequate resources are available for meeting task needs.
•    Review all maintenance schedules and coordinates with other departments to assure plant availability to meet business needs.
•    Monitor and review costs, establish and maintain budgets and recommend the replacement or updating of equipment.
•    Manage projects for new installations or upgrades, including design, modifications and new installation start-ups.
•    Respond to emergencies that could cause injury to personnel or loss of production.
•    Ensure compliance with safety and job training programs.
•    Ensure compliance with required engineering, mining, safety, and environmental standards, laws and regulations.
•    Accountable for performance management of direct reports
•    Must coach and mentor direct reports
•    Ensure that training is conducted in accordance with TML SA succession planning.
 

Études et expérience

•     Electrical Engineering degree 
•    5- 7 years experience with Site Power Systems (including High Voltage, Overhead Power Lines, Solar Plants, Renewable Technologies) on mine or heavy industrial sites
•    Proven knowledge Power Plant operations and maintenance within High and Medium speed LFO/HFO Power Plants
•    Previous supervisory and mentor experience 
•    Additional specialized education of up to 2 years
•    Formal professional or technical designation in appropriate area of expertise
•    Sound understanding of area of expertise
