Reporting to Senior Drill & Blast/QAQC Engineer and working closely with Drill and Blast Design and operations. learn and oversee the technical design, implementation, and monitoring of all drill and blast technical activities on site. continually evaluate drill and blast performance and initiate improvements to achieve key outcomes. To be familiar with and understand the principles of the Tasiast environment policy.

Responsabilités associées au poste
Includes but not limited to:
• Develop Drill and Blast design criteria to support safe & optimal mining operations.
• Establish drilling pattern design and firing sequence following SWPs.
• Manage implementation of the drilling and blasting field requirements.
• Conduct drilling and blasting support trials and making recommendations on their performance
• Assist with continuous improvements in drilling and blasting designs while ensuring they comply with mining regulations and site standards related to Mine Safety and Geotechnical Wall Control blasting.
• Ensure that drilling and blasting plans are carried out using appropriate software packages following the correct procedures and standards.
• Ensure the collection, analysis and interpretation of drilling and blasting data.
• Promote the environment as an integral aspect to the department and ensure minimal disturbance to the environment.
• Work area inspections with Drill and Blast Supervision to ensure compliance.
• Ensure all drill patterns are checked for completion prior to Blast loading.
• Regular field based QAQC checks drilling and blasting processes for compliance.
• Review for all drill and blast activities and report all deviations and non-compliance.
• Action all Non compliances in a timely manner.
• Instructions and daily planning of QAQC technicians.
• Manage QAQC technicians’ team and track performances.
• Manage and use BlastIQ Insights and BlastIQ Mobile.
• Execute Bore-track for presplit holes and develop a QAQC report.
• Coordinating and performing all QAQC tasks related to operations and admins.
Études et expérience
Mandatory Requirements for this position:
• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering.
• High level of computer literacy. Working knowledge on development and understanding excel worksheets.
• Effective written and oral communication skills In English.
• Effective decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work in the field (80% of the time in the field and 20% in the office).
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build positive working relations with other team members
• Effective organizational and time management skills.
Desirable Skill, Knowledge, Training, and Experience:
• Experience in Drill & Blast Open Pit Operations is preferable.
• Dynamism, organized, sense of duty.
• To have a valid driver license.
