Mine Technology Specialist

Responsible for carrying out a full range of functions associated with the Mine Technology hardware and software, preventive maintenance and repairs. These functions include, but are not limited to: Install, maintain and upgrade software used for production units. This position will required interacting with support providers and multiple departments, including Mine Operations, Mobile Maintenance, Mill Operations, Technical Supply Chain, and IT.

1. Install and maintain hardware such as Modular Dispatch, Terrain Drill system, High Precision GPS for Shovels,
2. Provide maintenance of Mine wireless infrastructure
3. Maintain and monitor 10 network trailers (Switches, Batteries, Solar panels, cameras)
4. Maintain the Mine Wireless shelter (Genset, Solar panels, Batteries, Repeaters )
5. Monitor the Mine Wireless Network and relocate the trailers when required
6. Troubleshoot network issues
7. Escalate Network issues to our local IT network team when needed
8. Administrate mining systems applications such as Dispatch, Provision, CAT Minestar, and Trbonet)
9. Ensure the proper operation of mine technology software and hardware
10. Maintain and manage the Mine Technology assets inventory
11. Manage Network trailers
12. Wash trailer for solar panels
13. Ensure excellent state of :

• Mobile Field Computers (PTX)
• CAT Aquila screens
• Mine Tech Shelters
• Dispatch Room Computers
• PTZ Cameras

14. Coordinate and work with the mine technology technicians to complete all required task repairs for field equipment
15. Ensure that all inspections are completed
16. Ensure that all assigned tasks are completed

Études et expérience

• University diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience as entry-level Mine Technology Specialist.
• Ability to keep accurate work records
• Ability to follow instructions to install, configure and troubleshoot computer software
• Advanced Networking knowledge
• Advanced Knowledge of GPS
• Advanced Knowledge of radio communication systems 
• Ability to handle several tasks at once and prioritize effectively
• Advance knowledge of Mine Wireless infrastructure, and of Modular Dispatch, Terrain Drill system, High Precision GPS.
• Must be able to apply good verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills to efficiently and professionally interact with multiple departments across the site
• Ability to work with others in a team environment
• Must be able to take initiative and work with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English and French. Fluency in Arabic is a plus.
