Job Summary

The Geology Specialist supports exploration and minex operations primarily at the Core Processing Facility and Logging Shed by coordinating drill core processing activities, sample management, facility logistics, and storage operations. This role works closely with logging geologists, technicians, contractors, and operational teams to ensure accurate and efficient core handling, data management, and material organization. The Geology Specialist applies established procedures and industry practices to support safe, efficient, and reliable geology operations while working under moderate supervision and guidance.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate daily drill core processing activities with logging geologists and core technicians to support operational priorities and project timelines.
  • Perform and support core cutting, sampling, labeling, storage, shipment preparation, and assay tracking activities in accordance with established geological procedures and quality standards.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and support for staffing partner personnel, assisting with work assignments, onboarding, and routine training activities.
  • Maintain accurate geological records, sample tracking information, inventory logs, and database entries with strong attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Support the administration and tracking of training records, training procedures, and compliance documentation for core shed personnel.
  • Coordinate routine facility, storage yard, and equipment maintenance activities with maintenance personnel and outside contractors to support operational efficiency.
  • Maintain organization and cataloguing systems for drill core storage, assay returns, geological materials, and sample shipment records.
  • Coordinate shipments and deliveries with assay laboratories, freight providers, and vendors to ensure timely and accurate sample movement.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering materials and supplies required for geology operations, core processing, and facility maintenance.
  • Apply established procedures and departmental guidelines to troubleshoot routine and non-standard operational or logistical issues, escalating concerns when appropriate.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to improve organization, workflow efficiency, and operational effectiveness within the geology support functions.
  • Foster a collaborative, organized, and safety-focused work environment while supporting broader geology and exploration project teams.
  • Work independently within established policies and procedures while receiving moderate guidance and direction from leadership.
  • Communicate operational information clearly and effectively with team members, contractors, and cross-functional departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years, related experience in geology, core processing facilities or warehousing preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple assignments at once.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite and data entry systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data management.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Forklift or warehouse equipment operating experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work on a team and independently.
  • Valid drivers’ license and authorized to work in the US.

Salary Range: $75,000 - 90,000
