Purpose of Role

 

To support the data management and reporting functions of the Global Health & Safety Team. Ensure that all key information necessary to assess company H&S performance is accurate and up to date and help develop data presentation formats that facilitates decision-making and external reporting. To support a safe work environment by maintaining H&S administrative processes, conducting basic H&S training, and effectively using a range of H&S tools and processes to implement H&S programs. 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Model company values and H&S guiding principles and set the tone for a people centric, progressive health and safety culture
  • Apply specialist knowledge and skills to support operationalization of Kinross H&S guiding principles, implementing H&S programs, and evaluating outcomes
  • Support delivery of the internal Safety Excellence program
  • Compile monthly statistics and corporate roll-up reports for H&S to support internal reporting (monthly and quarterly)
  • Develop and maintain data presentation formats, trend analysis, and other methods to help analyze the Company's H&S data and assess performance
  • Coordinate annual data collection for external reporting, and help develop data presentation (graphics, analysis, etc.) to convey key messages for external audiences
  • Leverage the Company's H&S databases to generate responses to inquiries from external parties, such as agencies generating Environment/Social/Governance ratings and indices
  • Develop and maintain systems to track publicly available benchmarking data for peer and other companies' H&S performance
  • Maintain the library of Safeground website documentation and webparts up to date
  • Collaborate with all Kinross Sites to ensure all reporting material is consistent and accurate

  • Provide analytical support to site critical risk management (CRM) programs
  • Support wellness initiatives, and communication initiatives as needed
  • Contributing to annual ESG/Sustainability reports, compiling data, facts, reports
  • Identify continuous improvement as it relates to underlying business process related to data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Provide support to the global users for different H&S systems and tools for data collection and reporting
  • Support the integration, adoption, and governance of AI-enabled analytics tools to enhance data validation, trend detection, and reporting automation
  • Utilize AI-driven company approved platforms to streamline reporting workflows and improve data insights

Education and Experience

 

  • Degree or Diploma in health & safety, Data Analysis, or equivalent experience. 
  • Additional certificates or courses in AI tools, analytics, data science, or digital transformation are an asset.
  • Prior experience working in management of H&S data for large-scale mining operations.
  • Prior Kinross experience considered an asset.
  • English essential, French, Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese a distinct advantage.
  • Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.

Skills

 

  • Expert level skills in Excel. Advanced level proficiency with databases, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. Power-user or better for web-based systems such as SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills set: Logistical Regression, Modeling, statistically literate etc.
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI) and EHS tools (e.g. Intelex).
  • Graphic design and data visualization skills an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented.

Compensations and Total Rewards

 

The base salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000 CAD plus a target bonus of 15% and group benefit coverage.

The hiring range reflects our targeted compensation framework for the role. The actual offer will be determined through a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate’s experience, capabilities, and potential impact, along with consideration of internal equity, team structure, and benchmark market data for similar positions.
