Job Summary
The Gold Rush Corporate Internship Program is an opportunity for ambitious students who are currently enrolled in a Business - Accounting/Finance program at a Canadian academic institution, and who are highly interested in the mining industry.This program will have opportunities working closely with various departments in Kinross’ Corporate Office in Toronto, Ontario as well as exposure to finance personnel at Kinross’ operating sites gaining real-world experience in an exciting, dynamic industry. The student hired for this role will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Advisory.
Key Responsibilities
The Finance Intern will assist the Financial Reporting and Consolidation functions of the Kinross finance department with the following:
- Participation in the 2026 year-end and 2027 first quarter external financial reporting process, including:
- Preparation of supporting schedules
- Analysis of contracts and financial information
- Coordination of deliverables with external auditors
- Benchmarking financial statement disclosures against peers
- Preparing financial report tie-outs
- Assistance with other ad-hoc requests and analyses
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly working capital analysis
- Assist in the preparation of other corporate financial reporting documents, including the Annual Information Form, Management Information Circular, Extractive Sector Transparency Measures Act (ESTMA) report, and the Sustainability report
Qualifications and Skills
- 2nd or 3rd year Business - Accounting/Finance (or related) program from a recognized educational institution with an excellent academic record
- Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail
- Flexibility to undertake various tasks
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently
- Ability to learn quickly and to work well in a team environment
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Desire to pursue a CPA designation considered an asset
- Spanish, French, or Portuguese language abilities considered an asset
Compensation and Total Rewards
The base salary range for this role is $44,226.00 to $60,060.00 CAD plus 4% vacation pay. The hiring range reflects our targeted compensation framework for the role. The actual offer will be determined through a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate’s experience, capabilities, and potential impact, along with consideration of internal equity, team structure, and benchmark market data for similar positions.
