Purpose of Role
The purpose of the internship is to provide students with exposure to Kinross geology by supporting the corporate and site teams with various projects spanning from MINEX to resource modeling.
Job Responsibilities
- Responds to a variety of internal and / or external requests from technical teams such as:
- Identifying gaps and works with the team to agree upon solutions for implementation
- Supports making recommendations for opportunities that could maximize efficiency and productivity of the operation
- Analyses and interprets various forms of data including (but not limited to) assay, geological, geochemical and metallurgical data
- Reviews and provides feedback on all technical and project proposals to ensure adherence to best practices
- Investigates issues at site and prepares technical documents such as site memos / reports to support decision-making, and presents recommendations and status updates to key stakeholders (ex. Technical Services Management’s technical teams)
- Liaises with site/project groups to ensure consistency and quality of geological data provided
- Builds collaborative relationships at corporate and sites, facilitating transfer of data and information as required; demonstrates consistent ability to work with many personality types and own relationships; fully empathizes with site challenges

Compensation & Total Rewards
The base salary range for this role is $44,226 to $60,060 CAD, plus 4% vacation pay.
The hiring range reflects our targeted compensation framework for the role. The actual offer will be determined through a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate’s experience, capabilities, and potential impact, along with consideration of internal equity, team structure, and benchmark market data for similar positions.
