Job Description

The Gold Rush Corporate Internship Program is an opportunity for ambitious students who are enrolled in a Business - Accounting/Finance program at a recognized academic institution, and who are highly interested in the mining industry. This program will have:

  • Opportunities to work closely with various departments in Kinross’ Corporate Office in Toronto, Ontario, gaining real-world experience in an exciting, dynamic industry;
  • Orientation and exposure to Kinross’ culture, goals, objectives and initiatives;
  • Hands-on experience working for one of the world’s largest gold-mining companies, where the work you will be doing truly has an impact;

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the review of monthly financial and operational data
  • Assist with the quarter-end financial close process
  • Assist with forecast and budget processes
  • Assist with ad-hoc requests from various departments

Education and Experience

  • 2nd or 3rd year Business - Accounting/Finance program from a recognized educational institution with an excellent academic record

Skills

  • Basic knowledge of accounting
  • Ability to understand financial relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and Power Point, and Word
  • Flexibility to undertake various tasks
  • Ability to learn quickly and work well in a team environment
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
