Purpose of Role
We are seeking a forward-thinking Business Systems and Automation Analyst to modernize and transform business operations across our global mining organization. The ideal candidate combines a strong understanding of end-to-end business processes across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT with expertise in digital innovation, automation, and analytics. Using emerging technologies such as the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps), RPA, and AI-driven insights, this role collaborates with business and IT stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, develop proof-of-concepts, and implement intelligent solutions that enhance efficiency, data visibility, and decision-making. The successful candidate is a creative problem-solver with the ability to leverage AI, machine learning, and automation to drive continuous improvement and enable smarter, more connected business operations across the enterprise.
Job Responsibilities
1. Digital Innovation & Automation
- Identify opportunities to enhance, extend, or augment enterprise applications and processes using emerging technologies such as AI, ML, and RPA.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes across Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and Maintenance by leveraging tools such as the Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Dataverse, and AI Agents.
- Support the rapid delivery of Proofs-of-Concept (POCs) and prototypes of business solutions that address gaps in enterprise applications and accelerate innovation adoption.
- Partner with IT and business stakeholders to define an automation roadmap and governance model that ensures scalability and sustainability.
2. Process & System Optimization
- Analyze and streamline key end-to-end processes such as Procure-to-Pay (P2P), Asset-to-Retire (A2R), Forecast-to-Plan (F2P), Inventory-to-Fulfill (I2F), Source-to-Contract (S2C), and Maintenance-to-Repair (M2R).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business challenges into practical technical solutions using Power Platform and RPA tools.
- Develop automated workflows, dashboards, and predictive models that improve accuracy, visibility, and operational productivity.
3. Data, Analytics & Insights
- Collaborate with the IT Data Integration and Analytics team, along with Finance, Operations, and IT stakeholders, to integrate and analyze data from enterprise systems including JD Edwards (JDE), SAP Ariba, OneStream, Concur, and others to enable unified reporting and actionable business insights.
- Build Power BI dashboards and analytical models to support performance management, cost optimization, and decision-making.
- Translate complex datasets into actionable insights that improve transparency and operational control across the business.

4. ERP Systems Support & Enhancement
- Provide Tier 2 functional support for business systems across Finance, Supply Chain, and Maintenance.
- Work with the Enterprise applications team to modernize Oracle JDE with the use of the available newer technologies and tools in the system – Enterprise Process Modeler, Orchestrator, User Experience / Modern UI / Mobile / Composed Pages (UX One etc.)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, maintain data integrity, and ensure business continuity.
- Configure and enhance ERP and related applications to meet evolving business and technical requirements.
- Develop and deliver user training, E-learning content, and workshops to promote system adoption and standardization.
- Participate in system upgrades, testing, and change initiatives to ensure seamless transitions and process alignment.
5. Collaboration, Governance & Change Enablement
- Work closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and IT teams to deliver innovative, scalable, and secure solutions.
- Serve as a trusted liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment and measurable outcomes.
- Promote adoption of digital tools through effective communication, training, and engagement initiatives.
- Stay current on emerging digital trends, sharing best practices to strengthen Kinross’s innovation culture.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information systems, accounting, finance, business, or engineering.
- Certifications (Assets): CPA, CBAP, PMP, or certifications in RPA or Microsoft Power Platform.
- 3–5 years of experience in business systems analysis, process automation, or ERP support, ideally within the mining, energy, or asset-intensive industries.
- Demonstrated experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform not limited to Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, Copilot Studio, AI Builder
- Proven track record developing automation workflows using Power Platform and RPA tools.
- Experience with data analytics and visualization (Power BI, ReportsNow, SQL).
- Exposure to AI/ML applications for predictive analytics or process optimization is an advantage.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a global, multicultural environment.
