Job Description
The Employee Development Specialist is responsible for delivering the organization’s development strategy, designing tools and processes for this strategy, and assessing its outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
Development Strategy
Work with the global HR team to understand the current state of development and key priority areas
Contribute to the creation of an integrated development strategy for the organization.
Partner with the Global HR team to identify, plan, and execute targeted development initiatives.
Development Programs
Review individual and organizational development needs.
Design development programs and tools as identified in the strategy and manage the global implementation for each.
Monitor the success of development plans and adapt as required to reflect business needs.
Support HR business partners to collaborate with managers and give guidance and tools to assist with developing team members, including working with the Manager, Talent Management to create Individual Development Plans.
Oversee the global learning management system (“LMS”), including: in consultation with the Director, Talent and Engagement, developing LMS strategy for the organization (including reviewing effectiveness of existing platform): and managing content by reviewing existing content, streamlining content based on learning needs and sourcing new content as appropriate.
Provide functional oversight to the LMS administrator.
Establish frameworks to enable professional development paths for critical roles
Assist with the ongoing administration, change management, and continuous improvement of development planning and career development processes and systems in collaboration with the Manager, Talent Management
Connect with business partners and remain current with L&D trends to identify effective toolkits and processes.
Education and Experience
Generally 5 - 8 years of talent, learning and development or related experience or equivalent
Demonstrated problem solving and decision making capabilities with effective organizational and time management skills; the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Strong interest and demonstrated ability to create and continuously improve processes and tools. Experience in reviewing programs and processes, identifying opportunities and successfully implementing changes.
Open to feedback and suggestions, willing to collaborate with others to understand the needs and continuously evolve programs to ensure they are adding value to the business
Strong relationship management skills to work collaboratively across the global HR community
Demonstrated interpersonal and process management skills with the ability to recognize interdepartmental relationships and dependencies and implement Development activity in support of cross-functional policy and procedures
Experience in management development and soft skills training
Experience in partnering with third parties
A strong communicator, both in written and spoken communications
Articulate and confident standing up and delivering to large audiences
Organized and a self-starter
