Job Summary
To perform a wide spectrum of treasury activities, primarily focused on cash management and forecasting, banking activities, metal shipments and intercompany metal sales transactions, and letters of credit. Provide recommendations for improvements of business processes.
Key Responsibilities
Cash Management and Banking
- Assist with cash flows for various entities, including cash flow forecasting and planning by business entity to ensure cash requirements are met on a timely basis. Partner with Regional Teams, Finance (FP&A and Tax), and other cross functional teams (Corporate Development and Operations), as required.
- Execute treasury operational activities, including cash management, wire payments, short-term investments, FX spot trades, reporting, and treasury system administration.
- Perform cash management activities, including daily reconciliations of corporate controlled bank accounts in the Treasury System.
- Coordinate with tax and legal on tax plans, and execute cash movements in accordance with planned timeline.
- Prepare weekly senior management liquidity dashboards.
- Maintain strong relationships with our key banking partners and work with banks to resolve day to day issues.
- Assist in maintaining the Treasury Management System, ensuring it remains current as bank accounts and business units are added or removed.
- Assist with Treasury’s Bank Account Management system (BAM).
Treasury Operations
- Manage end-to-end bullion sales and settlement processes, including metal transfers, refinery coordination, and royalty payments.
- Maintain worksheets used for tracking metal shipments, inventory monitoring, and processes related to intercompany and external metal sales, gaining exposure to the precious metals sales process and capital market dynamics.
- Assist with letter of credit and surety bond requirements to ensure timely renewal and/or issuance. This includes timely and accurate payment of related fees.
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, refineries, and internal stakeholders while supporting KYC, compliance, internal controls, audit requests and treasury governance activities.
- Coordinate with Accounting, FP&A and other business functions to ensure the accurate reporting of treasury related activities in the quarterly treasury report, external reporting (Financial Statements and MD&A), and other senior management materials.
- Continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on optimizing technology across all treasury processes.
- Other special projects and duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to learn quickly
- Ability to work with others in team environment
- Flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments
- Bachelor of commerce, finance or economics degree required
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of related work experience
- Preferably worked within Treasury or Finance
- IT systems knowledge requirements: Strong proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint and familiarity with Copilot and other AI tools
- Knowledge of Treasury Management System, Cash Management and Bloomberg preferred
- Ability to meet deadlines during peak periods and to prioritize effectively
- Ability to interact effectively, including solid verbal and written communication skills
Compensation and Total Rewards
The base salary range for this role is $60,000 to $70,000 CAD plus a target Short-Term Incentive bonus of 15% and group benefit coverage. The hiring range reflects our targeted compensation framework for the role. The actual offer will be determined through a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate’s experience, capabilities, and potential impact, along with consideration of internal equity, team structure, and benchmark market data for similar positions.
