The Opportunity

 

Support the Strategic Business Planning process by combining mining experience with financial interest and expertise.  Provide analysis that contributes to high-level business decisions around project development, strategic planning and budgeting.

Provide expert analytical and project management support for various business cases and mine plan optimizations.  Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to drive strong technical and financial plans for the business.

What You Will Do

 

With moderate introduction and guidance, support Kinross and its sites and projects in making their most strategic decisions, through analysis, financial modelling and impactful executive-level communication.

Explain and present complex information in a straightforward way, by developing and delivering communications materials for sites and senior executives, up to the COO and SLT level.

Assist with other requests for support and identify solutions to such requests.

Must Haves

 

  1. Two or more years of experience with exposure to financial and strategic modeling in an asset-intensive industry
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  3. Ability to handle significant variation in workload
  4. Proven team leadership and project management skills
  5. Expert-status with Excel and Power Point
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with our operations’ technical and financial teams
  7. A valid passport allowing visa-free entry to the US or a valid US visa (B1/B2)

 

Nice to Haves

 

  1. Experience in the mining industry
  2. Degree in Engineering, Finance or related field
  3. Working knowledge of a second language, preferably French, Portuguese or Spanish
