Job Description

The Mine Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the movement of mining equipment and personnel to ensure efficient and safe operations. Using dispatch systems and communication tools, the dispatcher ensures optimal equipment utilization, responds to operational changes, and supports production targets.

This role requires strong communication, high attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

The incumbent will do Site induction + HSE Package Mandatory training + HR onboarding (Internal Rule, Code of Conduct…)

Job Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to:

  • Monitor and control the dispatch system to track equipment and personnel in real-time.
  • Assign haul trucks, loaders, drills, and other mobile equipment based on production priorities.
  • Communicate with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams to coordinate activities and respond to breakdowns or delays.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment status, production metrics, and shift activities.
  • Optimize truck and shovel assignments to minimize idle time and maximize productivity.
  • Respond to emergencies and adjust dispatch plans as needed to maintain safety and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with mine planning and engineering teams to align dispatching with short-term and long-term plans.
  • Ensure accuracy of data inputs related to loading areas, dumping locations, equipment statuses, and operator log-ins.
  • Conduct system audits to ensure that truck assignments, production records, and KPIs reflect actual field conditions.
  • Collaborate with mine engineers and short-term planning teams to ensure uploaded polygons and patterns are up-to-date and correspond with field work.
  • Provide daily end-of-shift reports on fleet performance, system compliance, and operator productivity.
  • Generate shift reports and performance summaries for management review.
  • Lead Safety & Emergency Coordination
  • Act as the primary communications coordinator during field emergencies, ensuring timely alert of Emergency Response teams and updating operational leaders.
  • Support the implementation of emergency response protocols, road closures, exclusion zones, and mobile equipment relocations.
  • Maintain communication records during incidents to support later investigations and response reviews.

Education and Experience

Mandatory Requirements for this position:

  • University’s degree (Bac+3) or equivalent post-secondary education in Mining, Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in open-pit mining operations, with at least 2 years of exposure to field or dispatch-related responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience with Modular Dispatch, CAT MineStar, or equivalent fleet management systems is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of open-pit load and haul, drill and blast sequencing, and general mining operations.
  • Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, digital reporting, and fleet system interfaces.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; French and Arabic are an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure and manage high volumes of information in real-time.

  • Good understanding of local languages will be an asset.
  • Experience in coordinating mining activities to ensure efficiency and execution of the mine plan.
