Job Description

Reporting to the HR Director, this position will provide strategic advice in matters pertaining labour relations.  It will also provide leadership and coaching to the management team and HR specialists by ensuring the delivery of core HR functions including but not limited to: people experience, performance management, talent review, internal communication & translation, business partners, company policies and procedures. This role is responsible for ensuring HR service and operating standards are met both internally and externally by demonstrating professionalism and expertise in all actions. This role will also contribute to the design and development of processes, practices, and methodologies in Human Resources and support local HR strategy and execution.  

Job Responsibilities

•    Lead and coordinate a team of People experience, Business partners and Communication to ensure the delivery of solutions to various HR-related matters including but not limited to: on boarding process, disciplinary process, policy changes, performance management, employee engagement and retention. 
•    Ensure compliance with Labor Law, HR policies and procedures and where appropriate make recommendations to improve or amend 
•    Advise Managers and supervisory team as appropriate to anticipate any potential concerns in advance of industrial/employee relations occurrences
•    Builds and manages strong relationships with different functions across the organization
•    Researches information to support decision making and improve processes.
•    Facilitate organizational and leadership effort to resolve employee relations issues, assist in the development and implementation of solutions. 
•    Maintain regular contact with staff to explain policies and communicate management vision.
•    Responsible for performance management of the team
•    Develop and mentor teams
•    Foster a peaceful social climate (employees, staff representatives, company advisory committee, etc.)
•    Ensure  good work relationships and communication with the Labor Inspector, CNSS and ONMT 
•    May represent the company in meetings with government entities 
•    Support Management to manage delegates
•    Manage Contractor desk team and ensure contractors compliance
•    Manage the translation and internal communication team. 
•    Actively participate in the development and execution of the CLA
•    Create and maintain a high-performance culture to achieve and exceed business targets and performance 
•    Provide support and expertise in managing all HR processes.
•    Responsible for ensuring that workplace safety procedures are being followed and addressed.
•    Manages or leads special HR-related projects as required.
•    Ensure employees skills, behaviours, values, attitudes are in consonance with Kinross values
•    Communicate change initiatives to stakeholders and manage the risks, challenges and success associated

Education, Experience ans Skills

•    University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or other related area of expertise
•    Over 10 years HR experience, 5 of which in the mining industry
•    A good working knowledge and experience across all areas of the HR discipline (e.g. workforce planning, talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, learning & development, change management etc.)
•    Ability to work with confidential information and materials
•    Capable of working effectively independently and/or as part of a team
•    Demonstrated proficiency using Performance and Learning Management Systems; and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•    Must understand the levers that drive business success (Business acumen)
•    Good Interpersonal & self-management capability, build relationships; collaborate with relevant stakeholders and support structures.
•    Must be customer focused, understand client needs and develop people initiatives to add value to the business.
•    Results oriented, accountable and delivery-focused.
•    Must be flexibility with the ability to multi-task.
