Job Description
The MEM CM Engineer is reporting to MEM Reliability Senior Engineer within the MEM department and is accountable for asset reliability and maintenance, driving continuous improvement through detailed data analysis and defect elimination principles. The role is responsible for identifying and managing asset reliability risks that could adversely affect operations, along with providing expert knowledge and input into the development and review of asset life cycle plans and maintenance strategies.
Job Responsibilities
Includes but not limited to:
• Statistically analyze equipment field data using proven engineering technique to assess reliability, maintainability and availability in order to improve equipment performance and reduce Total Cost Ownership (TCO)
• Create, review and update documents including maintenance procedures, work instructions and standards
• Provide technical and engineering support and troubleshooting advice to MEM technical staff
• Implement reliability tools and process, including Root Cause Failure Analysis(RCFA) and Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), develop plan to eliminate repeat failures, and implement corrective actions
• Develop and implement an Asset Maintenance Plan that includes value-added preventive maintenance tasks, predictive testing to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems and a scheduled component replacement
• Identify and set priorities on opportunities for reliability improvement by mining information using reliability databases
• Ensure the implementation of Condition Monitoring techniques: Inspections, SOS Fluid Analysis, Equipment History, Electronic Data (Product Link, VIMS, ET,..), Non Destructive Testing( NDT), Thermography, Site Conditions
• Provide coaching to the maintenance execution team in regard to defect elimination and root cause analysis
• Work closely with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM’s) and vendors
• Provide reliability reporting by Fleet/Equipment
• Assist with maintenance budgeting, forecasting, cost review and analysis
• Participate in maintenance and reliability project initiatives; facilitate meetings and implement action plans.
• Participate on cross functional teams that investigate failure modes and root cause analysis
• Review maintenance parts and components lists’ information for accuracy and reliability.
• Perform equipment strategy reviews and failure analysis to ensure that all task lists, and work instructions remain accurate and relevant
• Maintain a high commitment to personal safety and integrity of the environment and equipment during the maintenance activities.

Education Experience and Skills
Mandatory Requirements for this position:
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with Condition Monitoring techniques in mining mobile equipment
• Familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance programs in mining mobile equipment
• Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis (RCA)
• Demonstrated experience in equipment life cycle cost modelling
• Exposure to Project Management tools and techniques;
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, JD Edwards, and Fleet Management Software (MMRS; Machine Health monitoring, etc.)
• Good communication skills including verbal and written as well as presentation skills required;
• Able to function effectively in a fast paced, team oriented work environment
• Excellent level in French or Arabic with good level in English ( speaking and writing)
Desirable Skill, Knowledge, Training, and Experience:
• Experience with maintenance and reliability of diverse mining heavy mobile equipment such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Sandvic , Bucyrus and Pit Vipers equipment
• Working knowledge of business improvement tools (such as 6 Sigma, process improvement and change management methodologies)
• Good understanding of the full mining value chain and its key drivers
• Anticipates consequences and risks with a medium and long term vision
• Show initiative and maturity to analyze and solve problems
• Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team
• Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
• Driver license essential.
