Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations. 

The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.

Job Description

Under the direction of the Purchasing Supervisor, the Supply Chain Specialists are the authorized agent of the company and have legal authority to act for the company in commercial matters. The incumbent will act on behalf of Kinross Nevada when negotiating with suppliers for the procurement, transport, taxation and payment for goods and services needed by company operations.  

Job Responsibilities

  1.   Initiate and Execute Kinross Round Mountain Agreements. 
    2.    Works closely with Toronto legal team, and insurance department on contracts and agreements.
    3.    Manages Document Management for Agreements. 
    4.     Interface with Safety and suppliers regarding ISN.
    5.    Ensure contractors have current insurance on file in Supply Chain and filed. 
    6.    As directed by Dispatch, Order and release the Lime Schedule. 
    7.    Initiate New suppliers in GAN system, work closely with the governance team.
    8.    Maintain Current Log of Approved and Active suppliers in GAN System, Remove Supplier’s when needed from JDE if not compliant.
    9.    Process and Approve A6. 
    10.    Attend assigned departmental meetings as required.
    11.    Assist in Warehouse Functions. (Receiving Freight Po’s, and Binstock.) 
    12.    Research and investigate any expedite issues coming from Purchasing to Warehouse.
    13.    Enter New Supplier’s in SAP Ariba.
    14.    Process and execute Contracts in SAP Ariba.
    15.    Time Auditing.
    16.    Attend regular Administrative Meetings.
    17.    Minesite wide Binstock Auditing. 
    18.    Code & Audit Alliance Copier Invoices Monthly.
    19.    Follow and ensure Supply Chain policies are followed.
    20.    Conduct and Execute Silent Auction at Site.
    21.    Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management including working as team to accomplish department goals and objectives.
    22.    Consistently exercises Confidentiality, discretion and judgment in job performance.
  2. 23.    Return emails and phone calls on weekends and after hours as business requires 
    23.    Works without risk or harm to self and others. 
    24.    Punctuality and regular attendance required.

    26.    Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.

Education and Experience

  1.     2-5 Years of Supply Chain Experience preferred.   
  2.     Ability to comply with established procurement controls and procedures.
  3.     Ability to analyze situations, make logical decisions, and choose best course of action.
  4.     Must understand and know how to operate computerized purchasing and materials management systems and standard office equipment.
  5.     Must have good understanding of mining equipment, machinery and processes.
  6.     Good time management skills and ability to effectively prioritize work is essential.
  7.     Previous accounting experienced preferred.
  8.     Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills. 
  9.     General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
  10.     Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. 
  11.     Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  12.     Ability to work independently and as a member of the management team. 
  13.     Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
  14.     Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. 
  15.     Requires valid driver’s license.
