Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Process Senior Reliability Engineer to lead and support reliability initiatives for fixed plant equipment in our ore processing facility. This role is critical in driving equipment availability, reducing unplanned downtime, and optimizing asset performance through data-driven strategies and continuous improvement methodologies. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering to ensure the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation of critical processing equipment.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop and implement reliability strategies for processing equipment including crushers, conveyors, mills, screens, pumps, thickeners, flotation cells, filters, and associated infrastructure.
• Lead root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
• Conduct reliability assessments and risk analyses (e.g., RCM, FMEA) to identify and mitigate potential failure modes.
• Monitor equipment performance through condition monitoring programs (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, etc.).
• Analyze downtime and maintenance data to identify trends and develop predictive maintenance strategies.
• Lead or support capital projects and equipment upgrades with a focus on long-term reliability and maintainability.
• Review and optimize preventive maintenance tasks and strategies in the CMMS.
• Collaborate with maintenance planners, trades, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement in work execution and equipment care.
• Provide technical mentoring to reliability technicians and maintenance personnel.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and asset management standards.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (required).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a reliability or maintenance engineering role, preferably in a mining, processing, or heavy industrial environment.
• Proven experience with processing equipment in ore processing or mineral concentration facilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in reliability analysis tools and methodologies.
• Expertly skilled in reliability tools and methodologies (e.g. RCM, FMEA, RCA).
• Strong experience with CMMS systems and data-driven maintenance strategies
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence change.
• Commitment to safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Preferred:
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent.
• Experience with SAP, Pronto, or similar CMMS in a mining setting.
• Lean maintenance or Six Sigma training/certification.
