Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations. 

The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Reliability Supervisor, the incumbent performs Non Destructive Testing, as well as other types of reliability testing, of the equipment on the mine site while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values. He/she also will recommend equipment maintenance procedures that are engineered to maximize site wide asset performance within the Kinross Way for Maintenance Guidelines.  

Job Responsibilities

1.    Perform machinery lubrication analysis
2.    Perform laser alignment of motors, gearboxes and equipment
3.    Perform Airborne/Contact Ultrasonic testing on equipment
4.    Perform infrared thermography
5.    Perform Ultrasonic (UT) inspections
6.    Participate in Root Cause Analysis and reliability analysis initiatives. 
7.    Accept responsibility for a variety of projects outside the day-to-day activities.
8.    Maintain written documentation needed for regulatory requirements and company policy.
9.    Moving, hauling, and lifting equipment as required by the repair or maintenance being performed.
10.    Specify certain parts when ordering, and complete appropriate paperwork and reports.
11.    Train on other reliability technologies.
12.    Responsible for managing the RMGC Environmental Health and Safety Management system in his/her areas of responsibility.
13.    Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. 
14.    Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
15.    Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
16.    Works without risk or harm to self and others. 
17.    Punctuality and regular attendance required.
18.    Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
 

Skills

1.    Strong troubleshooting, problem solving, communication and decision-making skills.
2.    Training in one, or more, of the reliability technologies preferred.
3.    Entry level certification in any one of the reliability technologies preferred.
4.    4 years of experience in Industrial Maintenance preferred.
5.    Capable of lifting and hauling equipment necessary to complete each job.
6.    Be able to accurately complete appropriate paperwork associated with test equipment and process equipment.
7.    Training on reliability practices, procedures, or methodologies is preferred.
8.    Must show ability on the following software programs:
•    Oil Commander Plus
•    Knowledge of JDE is preferred
9.    Work will be performed both indoors and outdoors in a general industrial environment. The incumbent may be asked to work straight days or shift work with overtime as needed. Appropriate PPE must be worn at all times.
10.    Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets. 
11.    Ability to learn from others and adopt best practices.
12.    Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills. 
13.    General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
14.    Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. 
15.    Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
16.    Ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team. 
17.    Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
18.    Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis. 
19.    Requires valid driver’s license.

Hourly wage range: $40.78 - 47.84

Works under the direct supervision of the Reliability  Supervisor.
