Job Description

Under the direction of the Clinic Supervisor, the incumbent will serve a contact between the patient and the clinic. The incumbent works within their RN scope of practice to provide prudent patient care while assisting the Clinic Supervisor while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.

Job Responsibilities

1.    Works collaboratively with the provider and clinic staff to ensure optimal patient care and best patient outcomes 
2.    Check-in patients, obtain medical history, and obtain vital signs, EKGs with the ability to recognize stable vs unstable patients. Performs patient assessments within RN scope of practice.  
3.    Administers medications, IVs as ordered with intravenous medications and solutions as ordered
4.    Accurately and promptly implements the orders of the provider.
5.    Administer allergy injections and immunizations using aseptic technique.
6.    Assists provider in minor procedures.
7.    Completes supply inventory. Notifies clinic supervisor of malfunctioning equipment. 
8.    Supports and enforces infection-control policies and procedures.
9.    Provides patient education and support within the RN scope of practice. 
10.    Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA standards at all times.
11.    Assists in training and development of Medical Assistants to perform duties within their scope of practice included but not limited to: taking vital signs, performing phlebotomies, and administering CLIA waived lab testing.
12.    Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. 
13.    Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
14.    Follows clinic policies and procedures 
15.    Punctuality and regular attendance required.
16.    Performs other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
 

Education and Experience

1.    Emergency room or acute care clinic experience preferred.
2.    R.N., licensed by the State of Nevada, required.
3.    BLS and ACLS certification required.
4.    Have basic medical knowledge of medications and their administration with potential side effects.
 

Skills

1.    Administer injections, perform venipunctures, introduce IV’s administer IV and PO medications.
2.    Perform basic laboratory testing, and interpret results.
3.    Check vital signs and recognize abnormal results
4.    Ability to remain resourceful and calm in emergencies.
5.    Maintain a professional approach with confidentiality as a priority.
6.    Keep personal safety and the safety of others as the highest priority.
7.    Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills. 
8.    General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations with occupational health hazards preferred
9.    Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. 
10.    Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
11.    Ability to work independently and also as a member of the healthcare team. 
12.    Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
13.    Must be 21 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis. 
14.    Requires valid driver’s license.
