Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations.
The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.
Job Description
Under the direct supervision of the Processing Superintendent, the incumbent will oversee the daily operation of the Ore Processing function to ensure that it is operating at the utmost capacity in a safe and efficient manner.
Essential Functions
Safety and Compliance:
• Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for the team.
• Perform safety audits and inspections, addressing any issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant governmental and industry regulations.
Team Leadership:
• Actively engage in recruiting and developing a diverse team of Operators and Technicians
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the ADR and heap leach operations team.
• Organize work plans, prioritize, and administer processes and procedures to ensure efficient use of time and resources.
• Promote a high-performance culture by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching.
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Operational Management:
• Oversee daily operations of the ADR plant and heap leach pads.
• Promote and implement best practices as they relate to heap and solution management to ensure optimal metal recovery.
• Coordinate with other operational departments (Technical Services, Mining, Maintenance) to develop and implement production schedules and targets.
• Ensure optimal performance of all ADR and heap leach equipment.
• Monitor and manage the leach cycle, solution flow rates, and gold recovery processes.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure timely repair and maintenance of equipment.
• Stay updated on the latest technologies and practices in heap leach and ADR operations.
Qualifications and Skill Requirement
1. Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical concepts, and operation of ADR, Refinery and Leach Pads
2. Strong understanding of CIC, VCIC, Kilns, Scrubbers, Pressure Strip, pumps, leaching & other systems related to gold recovery
3. Strong leadership/team building skills
4. The ability to present RMGC policy without bias and with consistency
5. The ability to communicate with all levels of personnel
6. Familiarity utilizing and navigating JDE
7. Able to relate to concerns of supervisors and employees and present them appropriately to management
8. 10+ years mining is required.
9. 5-10 years specific processing experience is required.
10. Minimum 5yrs Supervisory experience is preferred.
11. Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
12. Requires valid driver’s license.
