Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations.

Job Summary
Under the direction of the HR Superintendent, this position provides full-cycle recruiting support for Round Mountain and Bald Mountain operations in Nevada, with a primary focus on hourly, high-volume recruiting in competitive labor markets. The Recruiter partners closely with hiring leaders to develop proactive talent pipelines, deliver a high-quality candidate experience, and execute recruiting strategies aligned with operational priorities and Kinross values. This is a remote Nevada-based position that requires occasional site presence and limited travel for hiring events, career fairs, and other business needs.
Essential Functions
1. Maintains and updates job descriptions for assigned positions, develops new descriptions as needed, and partners with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business, compliance, and legal requirements.
2. Develops and executes sourcing strategies that build strong talent pipelines, with a primary emphasis on hourly, high-volume, and operations recruiting.
3. Posts and manages all open positions for assigned sites, including temporary, part-time, full-time, seasonal, and hourly operations roles.
4. Maintains the Talent Mine database of open positions for assigned sites and supports internal communications regarding application processes and opportunities.
5. Monitors pipeline quality and sourcing effectiveness, identifies recruiting challenges early, and adjusts strategies to improve hiring outcomes.
6. Builds recruiting strategies informed by workforce demand, historical hiring trends, and long-range operational plans.
7. Uses local, state, and industry resources to stay informed of labor market trends, pay competition, and recruiting challenges, and adjusts sourcing and recruiting strategies to remain competitive in the market.
8. Promotes open positions through internal channels and recruiting communications to strengthen visibility, employee awareness, and internal mobility.
9. Prepares offer letters, supports offer recommendations, and partners with the HR Superintendent on compensation alignment, counteroffers, and hiring decisions.
10. Oversee pre-employment activities, including background checks, physicals, and drug and alcohol screening, to support a timely and compliant hiring process.
11. Coordinate and schedule remote and on-site interviews for assigned positions and travels to site occasionally as business needs require.
12. Coordinates travel arrangements and logistics for on-site interviews, recruiting events, and occasional site visits.
13. Partners with hiring managers to assess talent, support selection decisions, and coordinate additional interview stages as needed.
14. Maintains current knowledge of employment regulations, industry trends, and hiring practices, and applies fair, consistent, and compliant selection processes.
15. Provides interview training and guidance to leaders across sites, including support with interview questions, selection techniques, and fair hiring practices.
16. Represents Kinross at career fairs, community events, schools, and workforce outreach activities, and helps plan and coordinate recruiting events that strengthen employer brand and talent attraction efforts.
17. Educates prospective candidates, including high school and college students, about career opportunities in the mining industry and employment opportunities with Kinross.
18. Communicate new hire start dates, job titles, and employee information to departments and Health & Safety to support onboarding coordination and MSHA training requirements.
19. Meets or exceeds performance expectations established by management.
20. Exercises sound judgment, professionalism, and discretion in the performance of job responsibilities.
21. Maintains regular attendance and punctuality in accordance with business needs.
22. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
1. Two years of recruiting or HR experience required. Experience in hourly, high-volume, or operations recruiting is preferred. Mining or industrial experience is a plus.
2. Knowledge of fair hiring practices, including interview selection, bias awareness, and inclusive recruiting principles.
3. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, identify issues proactively, and develop practical solutions in support of hiring goals.
4. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to partner effectively with candidates, hiring managers, and leaders at all levels of the organization.
5. Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
6. Experience with applicant tracking systems, talent acquisition platforms, or other HRIS tools required.
7. Experience supporting recruiting events, career fairs, or outreach activities preferred; event planning and coordination experience is a plus.
8. Travel requirement: small amount of travel required for occasional site visits, career fairs, and recruiting events.
9. This is a remote position. The successful candidate must reside in Nevada and be able to report to site occasionally as business needs require.
10. Must be at least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
11. Valid driver’s license required.
