Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations. 

The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.

Job Description

Under the supervision of the General Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent performs maintenance on a variety of machinery and structures throughout the mine property and in the company owned housing.

Essential Functions

•    Practice safety at all times, especially when running or working on overhead gantry cranes.
•    Operate backhoe properly in all open field conditions.
•    Comply with all MSHA and SVCO safety regulations.
•    Responsible to manage the RMGC Environmental Health and Safety Management system in his/her areas of responsibility.
•    Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. 
•    Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
•    Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
•    Works without risk or harm to self and others. 
•    Punctuality and regular attendance required.
•    Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct. 
•    Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
•    Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
•    Able to operate lawn mowers and weed eaters.
•    Lifting and loading weights up to 50 lbs.
•    Operate power paint sprayer.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

•    Demonstrate willingness to help with any job.
•    Comprehend and carry out written and verbal instructions.
•    Demonstrate basic knowledge in mechanical and hydraulic equipment inspections.
•    Able to operate backhoe in open field conditions.
•    Able to operate dump truck, ditch witch, forklift and manlift.
•    Ability to perform basic carpentry and painting.
•    Ability to repair sprinkler systems.
•    Comprehend and carry out written and verbal instructions.
•    Demonstrate good housekeeping practices.
•    5 years carpentry experience preferred
•    5 years plumbing experience preferred
•    Be familiar with and able to repair mobile home failures
•    Must be able to positively interact with diverse personalities.
•    Ability to make propane repairs on homes.
•    Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills. 
•    General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
•    Working knowledge and skills with P.C. utilizing word, excel spreadsheet and JDE database preferred
•    Ability to work independently and as a member of the team. 
•    Demonstrates strong time management and organizational skills.
•    Must be 18 years old and presently be authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis. 
•    Requires valid driver’s license.
•    Must be able to meet “Authorized User” requirements for High Risk Activities, including but not limited to Fall Protection and Confined Space, as required by job duties, departments and Round Mountain Gold Corporation’s Permit to Work policies.
