Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations. 

The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Process Maintenance General Supervisor, supervises a crew of electricians for the purpose of maintaining power supply in a safe and efficient manner. While continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.

Job Responsibilities

1.    Assign and supervise crews to achieve specific tasks safely to meet daily process maintenance goals
2.    Application of electrical theory, application and latest technology for high-voltage equipment
3.    Basic understanding and troubleshooting of PLCs
4.    Able to troubleshoot electrical issues that arise and scope work effectively
5.    The ability to effectively manage the development electricians to levels of maximum efficiency and safety
6.    Conduct effective safety and toolbox meetings
7.    Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
8.    Collaborates with electrical planner for accurate and effective planning
9.    Understands and manages accurate and timely instrumentation calibrations for metallurgical accounting and production information
10.    Collaborates with metallurgy on timely instrumentation audits for accurate metals accounting
11.    Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct
12.    Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management
13.    Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance
14.    Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by state agency or must be able to pass driver competency course and exam
15.    Punctuality and regular attendance required
16.    Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor    
 

Education and Experience

1.    Associate in Electrical or Apprenticeship completion. 
2.    A minimum of 4 years electrical experience is required. 
3.    General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of milling and maintenance operations.
4.    Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing work processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software. 
5.    Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
6.    Ability to work independently and as a member of the management team. 
7.    Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills
8.    Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
