Job Summary
Under the direction of the Mine Operations General Supervisor, coordinates and oversees all dewatering activities for the assigned area to meet production goals in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner. This role provides direct supervision to the dewatering crew and ensures effective execution of dewatering plans.
This position works a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation, consisting of 7 twelve-hour shifts.
Essential Functions
1. Coordinate and execute weekly dewatering plans in alignment with RM site priorities, while supervising the dewatering crew.
2. Communicate and coordinate with all departments impacted by pit dewatering to support mining and maintenance objectives.
3. Continuously monitor schedules and priorities to maximize equipment utilization and the effectiveness of dewatering infrastructure.
4. Ensure adherence to department-specific maintenance practices and procedures.
5. Lead the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the dewatering program.
6. Develop crew skills to promote maximum efficiency, safety, and operational effectiveness.
7. Coordinate resources to planned and unplanned work activities as required.
8. Monitor crew activities to ensure safe and efficient operations, and recommend procedural improvements when issues are identified.
9. Ensure consistent application of company policies, procedures, and progression practices.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
1. Ability to advise on the projected life and condition of assets, including wear, safety, maintenance, and utilization.
2. Understanding of proactive versus reactive maintenance practices.
3. Ability to balance resource allocation with changing operational priorities.
4. Proficient in CMMS systems, including JDE, and Microsoft Office applications.
5. Mechanical training preferred.
6. Minimum of 5 years of dewatering experience preferred.
7. Minimum of 3 years of lead-person or supervisory experience required.
8. Valid driver’s license required.
