Job Summary
Under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent the incumbent is responsible for maintenance activities and equipment operations at Curlew Basin. This role will play a key part in supporting operational efficiency and ensuring optimal performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for safely maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, inspecting, and cleaning of all equipment on surface and underground.
- Daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance checks on surface and underground infrastructures.
- Operating and completing minor mobile maintenance on surface and underground equipment.
- Responsible for the mucking and hauling of sump slimes, including the safe removal, transport, and disposal of accumulated materials from sump areas to designated disposal locations.
- Completing the installation and maintenance of ground support, including the application of shotcrete.
- Responsible for the proper placement, installation, and ongoing maintenance of pumps and piping.
- Provide support as a water treatment operator when required.
- Collaborate and communicate with Curlew Basin team to prioritize operational and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all activities align with safety protocols and company standards.
- Support additional Kettle River sites when needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in underground mining operations.
- Proficient in operating muckers, haul trucks, surface equipment, and preferred experience in bolters and jumbo drills.
- Understanding of pumps, piping systems, and their operation within an underground mining environment.
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment, with a focus on reliability and safety.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot.
- Experience and knowledge with underground utilities.
- Basic computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, ensuring efficiency and safety in all tasks.
- Valid driver’s license.
