Job Summary

Under the direction of the General Manager, the incumbent will oversee all aspects of maintenance for the Kettle River Operations (KRO). This role requires strong technical expertise, management skills, and a deep understanding of safety and operational efficiency.

Essential Functions

  1. Responsible for mobile, fixed, and electrical maintenance activities across all Kettle River sites. 
  2. Lead, develop, and grow the maintenance team; provide guidance, mentorship, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  3. Develop and implement reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies to optimize equipment availability, reliability and utilization. 
  4. Develop, implement, and manage the preventive and corrective maintenance plans and schedules for the Kettle River Operations. 
  5. Ensure maintenance teams safely achieve availability, reliability and cost targets through the delivery of effective maintenance plans and schedules. 
  6. Effectively communicate with all internal and external stakeholders.
  7. Foster a safe and highly productive workplace through clear communications, efficient workflows, and system implementation (e.g. inspections, workplace organization).
  8. Review and approve requisitions for parts, equipment and services (after ensuring they accurately reflect the desired materials and/or services required) to ensure cost-efficient procurement practices.
  9. Manage and maintain parts inventory, including critical spares to minimize downtime.
  10. Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and expenditures. Implement cost-saving initiatives where possible without compromising safety or quality.
  11. Manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions for parts, equipment, and labor.
  12. Ensure that maintenance employees, programs, and systems are effective and support restart and production goals. 
  13. Oversee administration of all maintenance contracts.
  14. Manage and maintain the maintenance job progression system and ensure that it is administered consistently and equitably. 
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
     

Qualifications and Skills

  1. A bachelor’s degree of Mechanical, Electrical, or Mining Engineering preferred.
  2. 10+ years of maintenance experience in a mining or industrial environment.
  3. 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role with proven team building skills.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of mining and milling equipment, machinery, and processes. 
  5. Strong knowledge in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubleshooting and diagnostics. 
  6. Proficiency in use of computer systems including, but not limited to, JDE and Microsoft Office programs.
  7. Possesses strong leadership capabilities and the ability to foster a collaborative and cohesive team environment.
  8. Exhibits a high level of integrity and ethical behavior in all professional interactions.
  9. Ability to recognize and resolve conflicts.
  10. Superior communication and reporting skills
  11. Enthusiastic, self-driven and dynamic, proactive attitude.
  12. Requires valid driver’s license.

Compensation Data

Salary Range: $140,000 - $155,000
