Job Summary

The Fixed Maintenance Technician – Site Services is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing fixed infrastructure and utility systems across site facilities. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient site operations by ensuring all buildings, utilities, and support systems are operating in accordance with company standards and the SafeGround culture.

Essential Functions

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on fixed assets including buildings, shops, and site infrastructure.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair utility systems such as water treatment (including RO systems), compressed air, and HVAC systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems including pumps, piping, valves, and associated components.
  • Execute work orders and preventive maintenance tasks using the CMMS (e.g., Pronto), ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify safety hazards, equipment deficiencies, and maintenance needs.
  • Support installation, modification, and commissioning of site services, infrastructure and equipment.
  • Coordinate with operations and contractors to safely execute maintenance activities and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure work areas are safe, organized, and compliant.
  • Adhere to all MSHA regulations, company policies, and SafeGround principles, including hazard identification, risk mitigation, and stop-work authority.
  • Assist in training and mentoring team members as experience and competency increase.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
  • 2–5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or similar environment.
  • Experience with pumps, piping systems, and general mechanical systems required.
  • Familiarity with water treatment systems (RO preferred) and site utilities is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems is beneficial (non-instrumentation scope).
  • Experience using a CMMS system for work order management preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and authorized to work in the US.
