Job Summary

The Mine Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the safe and efficient execution of fixed maintenance and electrical work at the Curlew mine site. This role ensures equipment reliability, infrastructure integrity, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards while supporting production targets and fostering a strong SafeGround culture

Essential Functions

  • Supervise and coordinate fixed maintenance and electrical crews to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production priorities.
  • Plan, prioritize, and assign daily and weekly maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective work.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with MSHA regulations, company policies, and SafeGround principles, including hazard identification, risk mitigation, and stop-work authority.
  • Oversee maintenance of underground infrastructure including power distribution systems, substations, dewatering systems, ventilation components, and fixed mechanical equipment.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex mechanical, and high-voltage/medium-voltage electrical issues.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Technical Services, and Planning teams to align maintenance activities with mine production schedules.
  • Review and approve work orders, ensuring accurate documentation and closure in the CMMS (e.g., JDE).
  • Lead shift turnover meetings, communicate priorities, and ensure continuity between crews.
  • Monitor equipment performance and reliability, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions to reduce downtime.
  • Support contractor management, ensuring work is completed safely and to required standards.
  • Develop and mentor team members, supporting training, competency development, and performance management.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure all work areas meet safety and environmental expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade certification in electrical or mechanical discipline preferred.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in underground mining maintenance, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong knowledge of underground fixed plant systems, including dewatering, ventilation, and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Experience with high-voltage/medium-voltage electrical systems, distribution, and safety practices required.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems for planning and tracking maintenance activities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of MSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and authorized to work in the US.
