The Great Bear project is a development-stage asset located in the renowned and prolific Red Lake mining district, and represents one of the most exciting recent gold discoveries globally.  The project has excellent potential to become a top-tier deposit that could support a large, long-life mine complex. Kinross’ comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.

Job Summary

You will support the Geology team and be responsible for providing administrative services and support for the Great Bear Project.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist in giving New Hire Orientation presentations. 
  • Maintain departmental vacation calendars and requests.
  • Keep inventory of giveaways, high-use items, and office supplies. Reorder when required.
  • Assist the Geology team with sample shipments.
  • Assist with procurement and relevant documentation to meet departmental needs.
  • Assist with JDEdwards tasks including purchase orders and invoice tracking.
  • Review and cross check invoices for accuracy.
  • Review data in software systems for accuracy.
  • Assist the team with schedules, calendars, meetings, travel, and events off site.

  • Assist in organizing meetings and recording meeting minutes.
  • Assist with policies and procedures.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, and special projects.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

A post secondary diploma in a business-related field is preferred. Alternatively, an Ontario Secondary School Diploma with 3-5 years in a management office environment would be considered. Experience in the mining industry would be an asset.

  • Technicial skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Time management and prioritization skills.
  • Comprehends and capable of interpreting technicial language.
  • Possess a valid drivers license.

Work Conditions

This position is based in Red Lake, Ontario. In this role you will work a 5X2 rotation.

 

Compensation and Total Rewards

 

The base salary range for the Geology Administrative Assistant is $50,000 to $70,000 + Short Term Incentive Bonus, + Group Benefit Coverage. 

 

The hiring range reflects our targeted compensation framework for the role. The actual offer will be determined through a comprehensive evaluation of each candidate's experience, capabilities, and potential impact, along with consideration of internal equity, team structure, and benchmark market data for similar positions.
