Job Summary
The External Relations Administrator serves as an administrative support role within the External Relations and Environmental departments. Responsibilities focus on coordinating and executing Indigenous and stakeholder engagement logistics, managing documentation and records, scheduling meetings and events, managing sponsorship and donations program, updating communication platforms, and supporting community events. This role ensures accurate, organized, and timely support for the site’s outward facing functions, with a strong emphasis on administrative efficiency and compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinate logistics for events, tours, outreach programs, and stakeholder meetings.
- Support community events, conferences, and trade shows.
- Organize employee volunteer initiatives and track community investment activities.
- Prepare and maintain records: meeting notes, consultation and engagement tracking, calendars, and follow-ups.
- Help develop and distribute reports, newsletters, and presentation materials.
- Support advertising, social media, and marketing activities.
- Maintain internal data systems (e.g., SharePoint, Borealis) and reporting schedules.
- Process invoices and support day-to-day administrative needs as assigned.
- Apply company social performance policies and ensure confidentiality.
- Support a work environment that is aligned with Kinross’s Safeground principles.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Indigenous Studies, Community Development, Business Administration, or a mining related field.
- 1 – 3 years of experience in a community relations, communications, or administrative support role preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered, experience in mining of other industrial sectors preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management abilities, and demonstration of strong administrative, organizational and technical writing skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; SharePoint and Borealis experience is an asset.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
- Flexible availability for occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays.
