Job Description

To manage a portfolio of projects from feasibility to commissioning for the Projects Department consistent with Kinross Values and Policies. 
The Project Supervisor will report to the Deputy Projects Manager and will be responsible for managing engineering studies and construction activities on the project from initiation through to handover.

Job Responsibilities

  • Comply with all TML SA Occupational Health and Safety requirements, as well as applicable 
    Mauritanian regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to all TML SA Policies and Procedures by employees under your supervision.
  • Take personal responsibility for the health and safety of every worker under or assigned to your 
    supervision.
  • Develop and manage engineering projects, whether outsourced, insourced, or a combination of both.
  • Provide scoping and oversight for fabrication and construction activities from concept through 
    commissioning.
  • Manage an assigned portfolio of projects in line with defined scope, budget, schedule, standards, and 
    specifications, following established Project Management practices.
  • Supervise contractor workgroups to deliver the construction scope of work.
  • Assist with the procurement of equipment and materials as required.
  • Ensure successful project execution outcomes measured by safety, time, cost, and quality.
  • Interface with and support the team in resolving contractual issues, technical matters, and service 
    requirements.
  • Manage change by recording and obtaining authorization in accordance with Project Change 
    Management Procedures.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with the Quality Management Plan.
  • Maintain compliance with mining, safety, and environmental policies, procedures, laws, and 
    regulations.

Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements

Mandatory skills and requirements for this position: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience relate to project management in the construction 
    industry
  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
  • Strong leadership ability and proven effectiveness in team collaboration
  • Technical proficiency in modeling and analysis of engineering drawings
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills 


Desirable Skill, Knowledge, Training, and Experience:

  • Previous work experience in a large process plant facility (e.g., crushing, milling, grinding)
  • Relevant certifications or training in Project Management
  • Knowledge of, and experience with JDE maintenance system
