Job Summary
Responsible for closely coordinating with other sections of Supply Chain to implement inventory optimization, improve and maintain inventory accuracy, reduce stock-outs, minimize aging inventory, and help prevent obsolescence. Requires employee to perform cycle counts, work with site planners on short to medium range material plans, manage ROP/ROQ levels, ensure FIFO, facilitate material return processes, as well as perform root cause analysis and recommend/implement corrective actions.
Essential Functions
- Perform Supply and Demand analysis on inventory on a continual basis; ensure the right stock, at the right level, at the right time.
- Work with MEM/Mill Planners in preparation for major downs or Planned Component Replacements (PCRs) to ensure accurate forecasting and adequate lead-time to reduce challenges during execution.
- Administer Cycle Count Program according to set schedule and procedure.
- Preparation and collection of count sheets.
- Direct and perform counts and detailed analysis of count results.
- Direct and perform recounts and other research for discrepant material.
- Perform reconciliation of heavy equipment tire, mill reagents, and fuel.
- Report findings and recommendation for adjustment to Materials Superintendent and Controller.
- Ensure integrity of counted material; including condition and expiration status.
- Plan, gather data, and facilitate physical inventories and pre-counts as required.
- Catalogue Gatekeeper for JDE system.
- Make recommendations to adjust safety stock levels for critical items without compromising inventory levels; analysis shall always result in actionable recommendations to SC leadership.
- Establish and maintain reporting tools in Reports Now to facilitate data-driven inventory management to support changing site needs.
- Manage excess and obsolete raw materials and work with intermediate and finished good stakeholders to disposition.

- Establish and maintain clear, proactive communications with internal customers and stakeholders.

- Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the state.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of inventory experience required, 3 years preferred. Heavy equipment with material handling and distribution experience desirable.
- Proficiency with ERP business software; JD Edwards knowledge is preferred.
- Intermediate or better Microsoft Excel skills; ability to create pivot tables is desirable.
- Effective communication both verbal and written.
- Ability to analyze, manipulate and report on large amounts of data, make logical decisions, and choose best course of action.

- Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
- Flexible availability for various shifts including overnights, over-time, holidays, and weekends.
- Progression through wage scale is contingent upon satisfactory completion of attached checklist.
