Job Summary

Provides non-technical general labor and equipment operation support for the mobile maintenance department from snow removal to performing grounds/facility maintenance and equipment/machine checks.  Will also utilize hand tools and small machinery and operate heavy equipment as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for building, site, and shop cleanup, including but not limited to: work areas, tools, and equipment.
  • Assists mechanics in carrying machine parts, tools, and materials to and from job sites.
  • Performs equipment walk around, inspects and operates equipment, cleans equipment and machinery and ensures proper disposal of waste.
  • Operates and maintains waste oil burners and trash incinerator.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
  • Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
  • Work safely in all areas and identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them.
  • Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.  Employee must have the ability to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
  • Experience in building, site and shop maintenance cleanup is preferred.
  • Experience with oil burners and boilers is a plus.
  • Position involves lifting and moving various materials in weights of 75 or more pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
  • Ability to work with others in a team environment.
  • Progression through wage scale is contingent upon satisfactory completion of attached checklists.
