Generation Gold Program
Join our Generation Gold Program, a 3-year rotational EIT opportunity for early-career mining engineers to grow and gain hands-on experience across our global operations. This role is perfect for engineers with limited experience who are ready to make a global impact and enhance their skills in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.
Purpose of Role
Contribute to activities related to a full range of underground mining engineering functions and actively involved in the development of processes, practices, and methodologies in both design and operation aspects of underground mines.
Responsibilities may be focused in one of the following areas of engineering: short and long term mine planning, geotechnical, ventilation, studies, projects, construction and operations. The candidate will have the exposure to multiple mine sites and projects by rotating locations every 6-18 months.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform short and medium term mine designs
- Assist in preparations of resource and reserve estimates
- Integrate short-term plans into life of mine plan (LOM plan) to improve LOM plan reliability
- Analyze and interpret short-term mine plans to ensure alignment with operational objectives
- Produce drill pattern designs based on short-term and operational parameters, surveys of mine workings and productions stopes, ventilation checks and geotechnical inspections
- Confirm that mine designs are properly implemented in the field
- Assist in studies/projects and engage with both internal and external contributors to ensure Kinross’ objectives are met
- Assist in development of mine design and cost estimates standards/best practices.
Education and Experience
- University degree / diploma in engineering
- 1 - 3 of related work experience or equivalent
- Some co-op experience in the mining industry is preferred

- Ability to learn additional languages as needed
Reporting Relationships
- Serves as a resource to other members of the team
- Typically reports into the Intermediate or Chief Mine Engineer
