Job Description
The General Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks supporting mine site infrastructure, facilities, and company-owned housing. This position performs general building upkeep, utility system support, and seasonal site maintenance in accordance with safety, environmental, and operational standards. The role demands a hands-on, adaptable individual with strong basic mechanical skills and a commitment to safe work practices.
Job Responsibilities
• Perform general facility maintenance, including painting, drywall repair, and light carpentry tasks.
• Operate landscaping and maintenance equipment such as power tools, lawn mowers, weed eaters, and paint sprayers.
• Inspect, maintain, and repair irrigation and sprinkler systems across mine property and housing areas.
• Complete basic plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing faucets, unclogging drains, and servicing toilets.
• Perform light electrical work including changing fixtures, outlets, switches, and basic troubleshooting (within non-licensed limits).
• Support HVAC and ventilation systems through filter changes, thermostat checks, and visual inspections.
• Maintain and repair doors, locks, windows, and hardware throughout buildings and facilities.
• Support seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting walkways, and preparing facilities for extreme weather.
• Inspect and support utility systems such as water heaters, pumps, and sump systems; escalate issues when needed.
• Assist with setup and teardown of temporary infrastructure such as fencing, signs, or project equipment.
• Participate in and support work planning systems (e.g. CMMS) by documenting tasks and reporting work status.
• Lift and move materials or equipment up to 50 lbs safely, following proper ergonomic practices.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and adhere to good housekeeping standards at all times.
• Follow all MSHA, site-specific, and Round Mountain Gold Corporation safety and environmental requirements.
• Participate in high-risk work activities (e.g., confined space, fall protection) as required, following Permit to Work procedures.
• Support the Environmental Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS) in all areas of responsibility.

Reporting Relationships
This position reports to the Process Maintenance Supervisor.
