Job Description
Tend to process unit operations including crushing, grinding, leaching, cyanide detoxification, and carbon elution. Monitor process parameters for area of operation to ensure we are safely meeting our gold production targets. Must comply with all company safety regulations, operation requirements, and efficiency levels while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.
Job Responsibilities
1. Operates, inspects, and monitors crushing, processing, and refining equipment to achieve the highest possible ore recovery.
2. Performs mechanical tasks when needed that are within the scope of training and skills.
3. Responsible for keeping a clean work area.
4. Responsible for pre-shift inspections, including of equipment.
5. Communicate effectively with other operators in order to maintain continuity of operating strategies.
6. Responsible for maintaining written and DCS logs in a precise and orderly manner.
7. Estimated travel based on current job requirements is (0%).
8. Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
9. Consistently exercises discretion and judgement in job performance.
10. Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
11. Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
12. Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
13. Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
14. Work safely in all areas, identify potential safety hazards, and work with management to correct hazards.
15. Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
16. Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employees must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
Skills
- Strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and also as a member of the management team.
- Demonstrates strong administrative, organizational, and problem solving skills.
- Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
- Must be available for shift work, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
- Progression through wage scale is contingent upon satisfactory completion of attached checklists.
