Job Description

Provides non-technical general labor and equipment operation support for the heap leach department. Assists with pad lay-out, pipe fusing and pump maintenance. Check flows, pressures and perform general cleanup. Will operate equipment such as dozers, bobcats, forklifts and loaders. Must comply with all company safety regulations, operation requirements, and efficiency levels while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross' values.

Job Responsibilities

1.    Responsible for building, site, and shop cleanup.
2.    Assists mechanic in carrying machine parts and tools and materials to and from the worksites.
3.    Performs equipment walk around, inspects and operates equipment, properly disposes of wastes.
4.    Perform ground and facility maintenance including but not limited to snow removal and general cleanup.
5.    Perform small equipment and machine checks and repairs.
6.    Punctuality and regular attendance are required. 
7.    Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
8.    Possession of a valid driver license issued by the state.
9.    Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
10.    Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
11.    Performs other duties as assigned.
 

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.  Employee must have sufficient education to read and write, perform simple mathematics, and maintain neat and accurate records.

Skills

  1. Experience in building, site, and shop maintenance/cleanup preferred.
  2. Experience operating small equipment such as forklifts, bobcats, and loaders preferred.
  3. Ability to work without constant, direct supervision.
  4. Involves lifting and moving various materials in weights up to 50 or more pounds, climbing up and down stairs, and working in an outdoors environment.
  5. Willingness to work in adverse weather conditions required.
  6. Must have solid verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to read and understand repair manuals and prings.
  7. Must be available to work holidays and weekends.

Reporting Relationships

This position reports to the Heap Leach and Crusher Maintenance General Foreman
