Job Description
Responsible for tracking, receiving, verifying, and staging appropriate parts for shop and work areas for the Mobile Maintenance Department. Will inventory, recommend, and secure all parts received for pending jobs. Will facilitate work as the liaison between the department and the warehouse on all facets of warehouse and maintenance related tasks. Responsible for organization of department DC tent, returns yard, MTN processing, and the coordination of parts pick-up from the warehouse and delivery to include close interaction on bulk shipments.
Job Responsibilities
1. Work with planners in tracking schedule parts; receive and verify parts from the warehouse to ensure the parts are staged in the appropriate shop/work area in a timely manner.
2. Maintain accountability/security of parts that are not used in the repair; process proper paperwork and procedures to return the excess parts to the warehouse for restock or return to vendor for credit.
3. Ensure core parts are properly issued and returned in a timely manner for credits.
4. Inventory and make recommendations in regards to the restocking and storage of shop stock supplies.
5. Inventory and secure all parts received for jobs pending completion.
6. Be proactive in all communication across departments in regards to parts requirements and meeting the needs to enhance equipment availability rates.
7. Function as a department expeditor and laborer as needed.
8. Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
9. Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
10. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
11. Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
12. Work safely in all areas and identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them.
13. Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
14. Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
- Electrical/mechanical background in maintenance with knowledge of parts identification and maintenance process awareness is required.
Skills
- An understanding of service and parts manuals, experience with cataloging, taking inventory, and tracking parts is required.
- Must have an understanding of scheduling maintenance for a mobile maintenance shop.
- Supply Chain Logistics knowledge is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge and skills with a PC utilizing word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Ability to operate equipment is required.
- Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
- Must be available for shift work, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
- Progression through wage scale is contingent upon satisfactory completion of attached checklists.
