Job Description
Provides non-technical general labor and equipment operation support for the mobile maintenance department from snow removal to performing grounds/facility maintenance and equipment/machine checks. Will also utilize hand tools and small machinery and operate heavy equipment as needed.
Job Responsibilities
1. Responsible for building, site, and shop cleanup, including but not limited to: work areas, tools, and equipment.
2. Assists mechanics in carrying machine parts, tools, and materials to and from job sites.
3. Performs equipment walk around, inspects and operates equipment, cleans equipment and machinery and ensures proper disposal of waste.
4. Operates and maintains waste oil burners and trash incinerator.
5. Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
6. Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
7. Compliance with all company policies and procedures including but not limited to safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
8. Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
9. Work safely in all areas and identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them.
10. Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
11. Perform other duties as required.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have the ability to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
Skills
1. Experience in building, site and shop maintenance cleanup is preferred.
2. Experience with oil burners and boilers is a plus.
3. Position involves lifting and moving various materials in weights of 75 or more pounds.
4. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
5. Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
6. Ability to work with others in a team environment.
7. Progression through wage scale is contingent upon satisfactory completion of attached checklists.
