Job Summary
Ensure the consistent and efficient operation of the pit dewatering system.
Essential Functions
- Monitor system operation on a daily basis i.e. check that each well is operational and monitor pipelines/fitting for leaks.
- Perform system repairs as necessary.
- Monitor all generators daily for operating parameters (volts, amps, hz).
- Oversee installation of support equipment and necessary piping.
- Work with operations / electricians to coordinate installation or movement of piping.
- Maintain operational inventory of materials.
- Ensure daily safety of infrastructure i.e. determine necessary pipeline re-routes and well integrity near shot patterns and new excavations.\
- Ensure all access to infrastructure is available.
- Fuse HDPE pipe and construct pipelines using appropriate hardware.
- Install and replace pumps as necessary.
- Punctuality and regular attendance is required.
- Meet or exceed established performance expectations set by management.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, safety, confidentiality, and environmental policies.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the state.
- Work safely in all areas and identify potential safety hazards and work with management to correct them.
- Work without significant risk of harm to self and others.
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Employee must have sufficient education to read and write instructions, perform simple mathematical calculations, and keep records.
- Have a basic electrical/wiring familiarity (interface of pumps, generators heat trace, and power requirements).
- Ability to operate and service truck and skid steer.
- Basic knowledge of submersible pumps.
- Must have solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work with minimum supervision and also with others in a team environment.
- Ability to function within the qualifications outlined in the attached physical demands sheets.
- Must be available for shift work, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
- Progression through wage scale is contingent upon satisfactory completion of checklists.
