Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource in the largest private mining land package in the U.S. The mine is located in White Pine County, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world, along the southern extension of the prolific Carlin trend. Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Process Maintenance General Supervisor, the incumbent performs maintenance on a variety of machinery and structures throughout the mine property, and in the company owned housing while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Kinross’ values.

Essential Functions

  • Operate fusing machine on drisco pipe.
  • Maintain and repair overhead doors.
  • HVAC maintenance and repair.
  • Metal duct work and fabrication.
  • Comply with all MSHA and SVCO safety regulations.
  • Plumping skills.
  • Carpentry skills.
  • Rig loads for lifting.
  • Practice safety at all times and actively participate in safety programs.
  • Operate backhoe properly in all open field conditions.
  • Operate dump truck, forklift, and man lift.
  • Comply with all MSHA and SVCO safety regulations.
  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
  • Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

  • Ability to perform the main functions of the job, including operating the fusing machine, rig loads for lifting, etc.
  • Building repair and remodeling as required.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge in mechanical and hydraulic equipment inspections.
  • Able to operate dump truck, forklift,  man lift, skid steer, backhoe and other equipment as needed.
  • Demonstrate good housekeeping practices.
  • Carpentry experience preferred.
  • Plumbing experience preferred.
  • HVAC experience with good electrical controls experience.
  • Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of maintenance operations.
  • Working knowledge and skill with P.C. utilizing word processing, including knowledge of JDE and workorder management.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the maintenance team.
  • Must be 18 years old and presently authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis.
  • Requires valid driver’s license.
