Bald Mountain is an open-pit mine with a large estimated mineral resource base located in Nevada. It is the newest mine in Kinross’ portfolio and was acquired in January 2016.

Job Description

This is an entry-level position for the Maintenance Department.  This position may allow progression training within the Maintenance Department.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Clean shop areas
  2. Organize all shop supply bins
  3. Complete Fire Extinguisher inspections
  4. Keep yards organized and stocked
  5. Keep rag bins full, floor dry filled and trash dumped
  6. Keep battery boxes organized and emptied when full
  7. Keep steel yard organized and clean for the weld shop area
  8. Responsible for Hazmat control labeling and inspections
  9. Assist mechanics when needed
  10. Recognize and control environmental hazards
  11. Keep lube farm clean and organized
  12. Keep sump drained and clean
  13. Keep wash bays clean, in proper working order, and at proper levels
  14. Keep trash bins/drums emptied
  15. Keep tool room tidy and organized
  16. All other work as assigned

Qualification and Skill Requirements

  1. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  2. Willing to train on other equipment operation as required
  3. Able to operate forklifts and other shop equipment
  4. Able to meet the physical demands of the position
  5. Ability to work alone with minimum supervision
  6. Must be willing to learn PC skills as needed
  7. Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  8. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with all departments
  9. Must be willing to work overtime as required
  10. Required valid driver’s license
