Purpose of the role

 

Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for leading Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Talent Management, Employee Services such as Compensation and Benefits Administration, Performance management and HR Systems. This role is also to ensure that all HR aspects being developed and implemented in line with strategic business objectives. 

Key Areas of Responsibility & Duties

 

  • Develops implements, enforces and monitors all human resources related policies and procedures
  • Provides management with a thorough understanding of the labor aspects of operating within a region, country, and a local environment
  • In conjunction with the Regional Total Rewards, outlines the total compensation strategy and calculate related labor costs
  • Elaborate a  world class strategic “Business Partner” model Business initiatives
  • Define implementation and follow up plan for performance management process
  • Ensure the preservation and the stability of the company’s social climate.
  • Guide the Tasiast top management  in all HR related issues
  • Develop and monitor the implementation of the HR budget and keep track of payroll.
  • Promote actions to improve the quality of service with collaborators.
  • In charge of Lead the periodical delegates meetings and election
  • Define a social policy and ensure proper dialogue and manage relationship with the social partners
  • Manage all HR fields such as: Talent management, Manpower and organization effectiveness, Employees relations, HR systems and Payroll.

Minimum Qualifications & Skill Requirements

 

  • BA or BSc in Business Law, Human Resources / or related field
  • Minimum 8 (Eight) years’ experience in Senior Level Position in international organization/ industry
  • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization compensation programs and other Human Resources fields : Talent development, employee relations,  etc
  • Good knowledge of Law, Mauritanian regulations and “Code du travail”
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Fluent in French and English. Arabic is an asset
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices.
  • Experience in the administration of benefits

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on the executive management team that provides company leadership and direction.
  • Ability to generate, develop and manage work plans, time lines, and budget
  • Team and customer services oriented
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
