Kinross’ comprehensive exploration and development program will aim to support the vision of a quality, high-grade, open-pit mine and a longer-term, sizeable underground mine.

Job Description

You will be responsible for developing relationships, partnerships, implementing programs and maintaining communications within the Red Lake area and surrounding communities. This includes neighbouring local and First Nations communities, government and non-government agencies.  This role will also be heavily involved in the implementation of collaboration agreements with local First Nation communities. You will implement all aspects of this role within the framework of the “Site Responsibility Plan (SRP)”, the Kinross management system for community relations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and foster relationships with relevant stakeholders in the area.
  • Assist in the implementation of strategies, policies, procedures and agreements that are aligned with site and Corporate Responsibility frameworks.
  • Maintain and collect relevant CSR and performance data to assist in reporting required within the SRP framework.
  • Implement community investment programs as well as receiving sponsorship and donation requests from communities, propose funding in alignment with company priorities and seek appropriate corporate approvals. 
  • Stay abreast of current and relevant legislation.
  • Assist in developing presentations, newsletters and other creative communications materials.
  • Assist in maintaining community engagement records and database.
  • Attend meetings, conferences and events, with flexibility for working some evenings or weekends and traveling throughout the region as required.
  • Participate on various boards/committees, as required.
  • Work closely with corporate CSR members and site Environmental and Human Resources departments on various initiatives.
  • Prepare and present reports on projects, initiatives and activities.

  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

A post-secondary degree/diploma in social sciences, CSR management, environment, human resources, business or relevant field.  A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience; previous career accomplishments in a similar role are preferred.  Experience in the mining industry, or other extractive industries are desirable. 

Working Conditions

This position is located in Red Lake, ON. In this role, you will work a 5x2 schedule.
