Job Description

Reporting to the LOGISTICS & LBI MANAGER, the successful candidate will provide necessary LOGISTICS & TRANSPORTATION SUPPORT for the proper functioning of this department.

Job Responsibilities

  • The Logistics Operations Lead is responsible for supporting the NKC HUB operations. This includes coordination and support over inbound and outbound freight movements, asset management, fleet safety & compliance, trucks dispatch support, and ensuring service levels meet or exceed TMLSA  requirements.
  • Support day-to-day Local transportation & Hub operations * Support systems and initiatives to minimize inbound and outbound freight cost through focused cost management.
  • Ensure internal stakeholders satisfaction in all areas of delivery service.
  • Assist with Logistics data collection by reconciling delivery/backhaul documents and enter data into the tracker.
  • Participate in shipment discrepancy investigations.
  • Consistently review and recommend process enhancements with the goal of improved efficiency, operational effectiveness and continuous improvement
  • Assist with daily shipping operations, including but not limited to reviewing open orders, running expediting reports, updating spreadsheets, creating shipment paperwork, monitoring accuracy
  • Optimize efficient routing of deliveries and service providers performance.
  • Coordinate and dispatch trucks to appropriate locations
  • Track and trace shipments for Site team to ensure on time, accurate and satisfactory deliveries; provide updates, as necessary
  • Responsible for actively monitoring deliveries to site.
  • Daily communication with service providers.
  • Individual follows formalized tracing and tracking methodology via carrier status updates, TMS, delivery alerts, or other communication means to collect shipment status information, and reports on it.
  • Respond to incidents; coordinate with appropriate service provider resources to resolve problems; provide follow-up and reporting, as required
  • Create and update SOPs and work instruction documents.
  • Correctly maintain and generate required reports; properly process, audit and file various documentation
  • Generate daily/weekly/monthly track and trace reports from TMS system and service provider reports.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships with all service providers.
  • Develops and maintains effective working relationships and communication with the site team in order to maintain superior service levels.
  • Participate in weekly/monthly meetings with other supply chain functions and service providers personnel to proactively troubleshoot or discuss lessons learned.
  • Responsible for the follow up of empty container return from site to shipping line terminal.

Education and Experience

  • Excellent English & French
  • Degree in Transportation/Shipping/Supply Chain /International business or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 
  • Very good level of writing
  • Good analytical skills
  • Good knowledge of Business Law
